Now....Mexico!

Mexico 2011

Mexico 2011

It started like a lot of other trips…unexpectedly. The plans were such that the next trip will lead to Africa and more specifically in the footsteps of the old route Paris-Dakar rally. It was to start in Morocco and end up in Senegal, but life is perverse. All, I planned the route, however, will have to wait ….. And all because….

One upon the time…I received Skype’s call and I found out that there is a high possibility for a trip to Central America. On the one hand I felt happy because I enjoyed last year’s trip to Cuba which has brought so much positive feelings so that I had no doubts to go somewhere there again. But on the other hand ….I was missing Asia.

I remember once before by just a second was the possibility that I will go and see Mexico and was very regret that did not happend :(. Now …. I know that well, so that didn’t happen. That commercial trip wouldn’t have given me the opportunity to learn so much about the local culture like this. Travelling with a backpack has the advantage that you do what you want, how you want, when you want. It’s probably what attracted me the most in expeditions….No rush, schedule, and listen to the guide.

Journey began and completed at Mexico City but we saw a lot of interesting places in southern Mexico and Guatemala on our way. I didn’t realize it’s such a big country! On the spot, it turned out that it’s not only so big but also because of the mountain travels time takes a lot and vacation time is so short 🙁

The first two weeks I was watching Mexico City and surrounding areas (Taxco, Puebla, Teotihuacan). I assure you that you can be here for another two weeks and to find places that will amaze you. Due to the holiday season we went to the lovely seaside town of Puerto Escondido, where I tried to learn how to surf. By the way, without success: (…. After the holidays time our trip it has realy begun. We wanted to experience the culture of Indians, descendants of the Aztecs and Mayans. Both of us were curious about what kind will be …..

I invite you to watch photos….
